Why won't my Samsung Galaxy S2 charge?

Samsung Galaxy S2 Won't Charge

Help!! My 2 and a half year old Galaxy S2 will not charge so I am unable to turn it on. It was being iffy about charging yesterday (kept charging on and off), put it on charge last night and woke up to find it dead. Managed to charge it for 5 minutes this morning but since then every effort to charge it has failed. I have tried several different chargers, put my second battery in it, but no luck. Sometimes if I fiddle around I can get the little battery charging symbol to come up for a few seconds then it goes off. I've tried cleaning the hole but that hasn't helped.

Any advice gratefully received I really need to access my messages!!

The problem is that the Little thing in the charging port may have been damaged. So if u want ur phone to work send it for repairs
