why wont my samsung galaxy s6 Screen turn back on?

i was charging my galaxy s6 went back to check it and the screen was black but the red light was still on like it was charging. i tried the power button and volume buttom at the same time and it still wont turn on.

Welcome to Android Central! Let it sit on the charger undisturbed for another 6 hours or so. Then press and hold Power and Vol Down for about 15 seconds (to force a shutdown, in case it's frozen on a blank screen). Then press and hold Power for 15 seconds to see if it starts up properly. If nothing happens, then it could be a failure of the battery, the Power button, or something on the motherboard.
