Why won't my Samsung S4 turn on?

My samsung s4 won't turn on.

My phone will not turn on. I dont think the battery is dead. when i try and charge it, it is unresponsive. when i take the battery out and put it back in, it vibrates and if i press the power key it will show the samsung start up screen for a second before going black and unresponsive again. please help.

Remove the battery for a few minutes. Reinsert then let charge for a few hours before attempting to turn back on. If that does not work you can try purchasing a replacement battery. If still no change then there's a hardware problem that only Samsung or the carrier can fix/replace.
