Why wont my Samsung S7 edge bluetooth connect to my VW Amarok for media?

[AC Question]

When I start my car the phone connects for calls and contacts automatically, but it does not connect for media so I cant listen to music from my phone.
If I turn Bluetooth off and on again on my phone it will connect for calls, contacts and media sometimes but not always.
Sometimes it connects for media and shows the song selected on the car screen but there is no sound?
My son also has an S7 edge and there is no problem with his phone?
I have tried unpairing and repairing, clearing the cache, resetting the phone with no luck.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you saying it doesn't automatically connect for Media Audio, or that there is no Media Audio option that you can check in the Bluetooth settings?

If it's not automatically connecting for Media Audio, are there any other Bluetooth devices that might be competing for the connection (like Bluetooth headphones or a smartwatch)?
