Why won't my wifi turn on my galaxy s7?

Every time I hit to turn on the WiFi it will not turn on. It just says "turning on..." and that's all it will do. I have tried everything. I turned my phone off and on, reset some settings, and even did a factory data reset on my phone and it will still not turn on. There for a while it turned on for 30 minutes and then went off and now it will not turn on again. When it is on, it will keep disconnecting and re-connecting and will eventually turn itself off. Is anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions to why it is doing this? I got the phone when it came out on March 11th and have not had any problems until now with the WiFi.

I have restarted my phone several times and it still does not work. I even did another factory reset on it and still nothing. Looks like I have to go get a new phone.

Same thing happened to me- go to settings, backup & reset- reset network settings- works like a charm- everything is working perfectly now- try it!

I've got the same problem on my Galaxy s6 Active. Very frustrating. A factory reset didn't work for me, and I even tried clearing the system cache first. I looked for "reset network settings" but there's nothing like that listed for me.

Go to wifi settings, forget network. Re connect network again and see if that helps. The latest updates address wifi issues with these devices. Mine works fine. Make sure smart network switch is off (in wifi settings). Good luck..

At least for me, there are no networks to forget. The wifi won't turn on at all. Maybe the update will help. Unfortunately my S6 active never gets updates. :( I'm still on 5.02

I have noticed that I am having this same problem which started a few days ago.

I have a new GS7 Edge from T-Mobile. I tried the usual stuff like restarting, clear cache and reset the network settings but no change. I hesitate to factory reset because of the pain doing so and others here are saying it won't help.

T-Mobile could not figure it out so I called Samsung who just wants me to send it in for repair. This is very frustrating since I need this phone for work. I don't see much else here but I will post anything I find out in case someone else finds this post.

Final notes here on this issue with my phone.

I have tried all of the suggestions on this post. I also downloaded the Samsung SmartSwitch application for PC directly from Samsung. This allows you to re-flash the phone's firmware from an official source. This has helped many folks with odd issues but did not help me.
In the end I had to do a warranty exchange with the carrier to end this Wi-Fi issue. I was also having issues with the phone radio and not being able to read the SD card at times.
My only wish is that Samsung would take care of its own products and customers like Apple does and not force us to go to third party repair facilities or use the carrier.

Absolutely abysmal from a service perspective for Android. That's one thing Apple has WAY over us. They have enough breadth of products and high enough quality that they could open Samsung stores just like Apple that would include servicing their products. I think they'd win even more customers if it was executed properly.

I'm having the same issue with my daughter's galaxy tab it's only 2 months old very frustrating

same exact issue on my s6 which is out of warranty, i tried factory restoring, reflashing with odin, everything I can think of. I ended up getting a refund through american express extended warranty benefit. better than nothing I guess

Was that automatic just by buying the phone with your Amex card?

I hate to ask the obvious, are you signed into the network you are trying to connect to?

i had to submit a claim, show proof of purchase and stuff, needs to be purchased with your amex. They didn't ask too many questions, they credited my account. I will now buy everything expensive with my amex haha, just submit a claim online.

same exact thing its happening to my galaxy S7. It happened like a week ago. I have been all over the internet and no solution found. I don't know what to do at this point but to get a new S7.

I did this and success on the 3rd attemp.
Now it shows my operating system is official. It was CUSTOME when wifi won't turn on.
