Why wont the adroid box update

Cant access apps on android box, says it's downloading but returns to main menu. Can't access any sites

Welcome to Android Central! It's difficult to troubleshoot these generic or direct-from-China Android TV boxes, since they're more likely to have faulty firmware or hardware, and there's little or no support. Does it have access to the Google Play Store, or is it only some 3rd party app store?

What kind of box? Have you checked out freaktab.com? They have forums on a number of android TV boxes.
