battery life on note 2 is awesome. granted i use mostly wifi, i get near 30 hrs between charges. i also love the big screen.
If you're happy with the Galaxy S phones why would you simply say you question the Galaxy phones? More accurately you question the non-S line of Galaxy phones or you question the Note line of Galaxy phones.I have no problem with the Galaxy S phones as I absolutely loved the S2 and the 3 was good as well. I am concerned more with Samsung Galaxy phones having signal issues. I did have a problem with the plastic backing but I hear they can be replaced with an aluminum back cover.
I wouldn't mind the S4 but the problems it has with storage space and so much bloat turnede away from it.
Bigger screen, more thing you can do, rooting, CPU, and you can control everything from how much RAM is being used to everything. Better then iPhone.I have an update in September. I'm seriously considering the next iPhone or the Note 2 or 3.
What would be good reasons for getting a Note if you didn't like the Galaxy line of phones?

Huh? Strange question. These devices are as different as chalk and cheese.

A bigger screen means the ease of use when watching videos and reading. Also, the Note packs a bigger battery and stylus. In summary, the Note overshadows the iPhone in terms of features.
My wife loves her note 2. She came from an iPhone. She watches a lot of videos from YouTube. And she indicated that the downloading of videos on iPhone is terribly slow and screen is tiny. Another complaint was battery. She likes to do all kinds of media stuff on her phone. Obviously that leads to depletion of battery fast. So she literally have to charge every 3 hours sometimes.
When I tried out her iPhone 5 I was simply amazed on just how slow it is and how outdated everything is. Even on a call the clarity of it can't compare to the note 2 or s4. Can't even talk and surf at the same time on Verizon network.
Don't get me wrong, iPhone is a great phone. The stability of the software and ease of use is top notch, plus I came from a 4s. I just think that unless the Apple step up their game and ditch their current iPhone business strategy, their iProduct will continue to lose its customer and market share.
Now my wife refuses to give her note 2 up. She plans on using it for a very long time.

I've had no more issues with signal quality than I did with any of my last 4 iPhones.I have no problem with the Galaxy S phones as I absolutely loved the S2 and the 3 was good as well. You loved the S2 & S3, didn't they have plastic backs?, but now it's a problem ...
The S4's storage space has been way over sensationalized in my opinion, run out of space throw in a MicroSd card and life goes on.
There are huge amounts of carrier/manufacture bloat on all phones. If that's a big concern maybe a Nexus phone would be more to your liking ...

If you need the S-Pen.
