Why your order hasn't shipped

Call it an update to my question or a solution for orders not shipped, but everyone who has ordered before the 11th and your order hasn't shipping. Call google first (1 hour wait, give or take) and then read on.

They explained to me that they were trying to ship my order, but everytime they attempt to charge my credit card, it doesn't go through. There is no problem with my credit card (confirmed by Google) and that this is just a bug in Googles payment to shipping system.

They would have canceled my order, but the shipping department won't let go.

Now what they have to do is have a pro look at my order, adjust it, and almost re-send it. Once that is done they will ship it to where I will be gone for a week due to vacation.

They can't change delivery. UPS can....but not for free.

So there is your explanation. Call Google and get that fixed like I had to do.

I'm in a similar situation. I waited on hold for over an hour, as I had to get things resolved before I left for vacation. So frustrating. They were very polite, and I THINK they are resolving the issue. It sounds like they're changing the shipping address. I haven't had any correspondence since the call that proves things are moving along, but I want to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Buy an accessory, pay a penalty

When Google announced that all preorders would ship overnight by the 19th, I decided to call and confirm that. Yesterday I called Google and Thing 1 told me that indeed my N7 16gb and an additional charger would be picked up by 7:30pm by UPS and that I could expect an email with a tracking number later in the evening. That email never came so I called Google again today. Thing 2 told me my order would ship today and that I would have it delivered by "early next week" (that's with my "upgraded" overnight shipping).

Based on what the OP said in this post and what others have said elsewhere about credit card issues I asked if there were any problems with my card. I was told everything is fine.

Then I asked if ordering an accessory delayed the shipping of my order. I was told yes, ordering an accessory delayed shipping. Standalone orders were shipped sooner.

Nice touch, Google! If I had known that I would have skipped the penalty and just ordered a standalone N7. If there was a disclaimer that ordering accessories would delay the shipment, I missed seeing it.

I ordered mine on the 27th with no accessories and still haven't received mine. I called too and got the same answer about how their payment system is messed up. I got a tracking number today and they put the money back in my account. The status at UPS is label was made July 11th and it is 2 day shipping but still hasn't made it to a UPS location.

lostmarine, for a multi-billion dollar technology company Google is proving to be pretty inept at managing customer orders, data, communication, and product distribution. The number of posts I've seen from people who ordered in June and still don't have their N7 is pathetic. You certainly deserve to get yours before I get mine.

I checked the Play store today and it now says that the 16gb units are "Coming Soon." It no longer says 1-2 weeks. Makes me wonder if they even have enough units to fill the remaining pre-orders. Good luck.

I can understand their lack of product. But why is it close to impossible to cancel an order?

They don't want you to cancel your order.

Sure, but I've never dealt with a "real" company (as opposed to one-room outfits in China) who doesn't allow online cancellation of orders not even processed! This is a first.

I requested a cancellation via email, but I have had no response. So, I could get an unwanted Nexus 7 on my doorstep in October, for I know, since Google does not respond. I may just cancel my credit card to avoid any further Google charges.

<<edit>> I did get a response:

" Hi there,

We've received your information and will be in contact with you as soon as possible. We're experiencing extremely high volumes at this time, so please expect some delay in response. If you have anything else to tell us in the meantime (additional details or new developments), feel free to reply to this e-mail.

Thanks!
The Google Play Support Team"

Now on the Google Play website: 8gb ships in 3-5 days; 16gb "Coming Soon"

You can put yourself on an email list to be notified when they have the 16gb in stock. Now I'm starting to wonder if the reason mine hasn't shipped despite being told by two Google employees on two consecutive days that it would ship is that they don't have the stock to fulfill orders.

I contacted them through the site with my order number and told them that I had not received a tracking number via email or wallet. At around noon I received an email with a tracking number. I think I had the same issue as the OP and they just fixed it that way. Anyhooooo I will be receiving mine on Monday it seems. When I get it doesn't matter to me, I'm just glad to know it's finally on its way :) They do need to get their act together if they want me to continue purchasing devices through Google Play though...

I had to cancel my old orders and make new ones, because that was the solution, but:

I believe there is an odd bug occurring on orders to your address or in
your country scenario. Your new orders are in a stuck state also. We ship
to PR all the time but something about your orders is not working. I have
filed a bug on this side. I hope for resolution asap.

Since the 29th...

I'm not holding my breath, but my tablet NEEDS to come today. I
'm leaving for a week and I'm pretty upset that it will be sitting on my front porch for a week. Theres a 75% chance that it will get stolen if it sits.

Anyways, I called google again and now they tell me that ALL 100% orders before July 11th were shipped, but the tracking numbers never came out because it was such an overload.

He put in a request for a tracking number. I don't understand why UPS didn't come yesterday, are they coming today?

He actually plain out said, "Sorry, but your screwed." Talk about understanding.

Mine is at the local UPS place and my card still hasn't been charged? Am I about to get another one for free?

Update: Just received the one I ordered from the Google play store and my bank card still hasn't been charged? Anyone else have this problem?
