Hey. It took me two hours of going through every settings and every app to determine the root of the problem. I'm aware of the trouble shooting sets in other post like: In developer mode making sure Always Keep Mobile Data on is toggled off. Make sure download booster is off. Under advance Wi-Fi setting make sure Smart Switch is toggled off.
If you have done the above steps and you still have both Wi-Fi and LTE showing go to Device Maintenance, select Memory, then Select view all. Once you do that deselect all applications and select one at a time and press the Clean Now option. Repeat each step one by one selecting clean now with each one. Do this by waiting a few seconds after you select each app and wait to see if the LTE icon disappear.
Once you have determined the app that was causing the issues (In my case The Alexa app by Amazon) was the culprit. Either go into App setting and disable Mobile Data running in the background or delete the App.
I normally don't post to forum's but I had to share this because I did not find a site that resolved the issue.
