Phone has been working fine..I just flashed this ROM a few days ago. Today I plugged it in to charge and went to eat dinner, when I was done I noticed it was in a boot loop on the Samsung logo...it vibrates every 20 seconds or so but nothing more..I can't even boot into recovery..Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What where doing before you plugged it up?
Can you not get into recovery at all? Have you tried pulling the battery then boot into recovery?

Below is what i would do.

I would pull the battery and boot into recovery. Do all the wipes, cache, dalvik & factory reset. Then reflash the ROM. You do know there is a newer version...3.1

I finally got it....It wouldn't boot into recovery...I let it sit for a while and tried it again then it finally worked. It was weird, I hadn't done anything I had just got home and my phone was about to die so I plugged it in and went and ate dinner. When I was done I noticed it was stuck in bootloop and wouldnt reboot...tried pulling bettery and everything....anyway I got it working thanks for your response, I,m going to dl 3.1 right now and update

This happens to the gs3 when the battery runs down too much and you aren't using the stock battery charger. It won't shut off and reboots when you plug it in to the charger.

I've noticed one thing when if I stay in recovery mode for very long while connected to a charger: the phone seems to get hot very quickly. I wonder if the logic to throttle the current to an appropriate level requires the OS to be booted.

The other issue is that with a charger designed for Apple devices, or when plugged into a computers USB port, the phone normally only draws about 300 mA (according to a forum member who has measured it). That's not enough to keep up with battery drain when the device is being heavily taxed.

Wow...thanks for letting us know. That is crazy.

That makes sense.

Edited for clarity...

Fact 1
The Samsung phone (like most phones) has an auto shut down feature that turns off the phone when the battery level goes down to a certain point.

Fact 2
When the phone is turned off and then plugged into the stock charger, the phone shows the current charge % but doesn't restart.

Fact 3
When the phone is turned off and then plugged into a charger that puts out more power than the stock charger it will restart the phone.

So understanding the above 3 facts will help you understand this.

When the battery reaches a point where the auto shutdown feature kicks in, it will shut the phone off. If plugged into the stock charger it will charge until you turn it back on.

If the phone is plugged into a charger that puts out more power than the stock it will restart the phone. If the power is to a point where the auto shutdown is tripped it will shutdown. Then restart. Then shutdown. Making it look like a boot loop. This will continue until the battery is charged enough that the shutdown feature doesn't trip.
