Wide aperture mode in low light?

Does the aperture mode provide any difference in low light images?

I'm not sure, it's supposed to be a software effect, not a hardware feature

It has no effect, the lens is a fixed aperture so light can only be altered by the ISO settings and shutter speeds. The aperture mode is a software based and just blurs the background by combining the two lenses.
