Widgets and Folders

I'm looking to redesign the look of my homepage and I was trying a few things but I need some help.

1. Can widgets be put into folders?
2. Are there any other folder designs that I can use? If so where can I find them?

1. No. These can only be accessed in your widgets page, and not a home screen.
2. Some launchers let you customize the folders. Try Nova

Yeah try Nova or Apex. Either of those launchers will let you change the look of your folders.

This is the primary advantage of Action Launcher. You can put widgets into "shades", which are sort of like folders for widgets.
