Widgets not connecting

Hi guys, for some odd reason when I tap on "Get more widgets" it returns a msg "unable to download widgets. Tap to try again."

I am a bit as to why this is happening. What I did notice is that this happened after I attempted to root my phone (which I think was unsuccessful).


Any insight will be greatly appreciated
