Looks like you are rooted? Are you running a ROM? Might want to check with the dev, if yes. With that said, I see 'Cache Cleaner NG' which might be the issue.

I'm not rooted. Those are left overs from my evo 3d which was rooted. Never removed them.

Ok I just got rid of cache cleaner, super user, and titanium backup

I see. Yes, you should just go down that list and uninstall old or unused apps. Don't worry, Google will keep a history list of all past and current paid/free apps for you so you can always go back and reinstall later. Good luck.

No such luck. If did it again this morning.

Wow, sorry. If you have already uninstalled all the unnecessary apps, and have checked all the settings, either under each specific widget or in OS Settings like Power Saving mode and Data Usage limits, then maybe uninstall and reinstall the widgets?

The next big step is Factory Reset and controlled install of apps. Good luck.

Unless someone else has suggestions.

I could understand if it was just one widget. It is all widgets. It doesn't matter if it is a Samsung or a third party widget. Obviously I can't uninstall any Samsung widgets. I definitely don't want to do a factory reset. I guess I'll just have to deal with it.

Definitely nothing on that list jumping out at me... usually some battery life assistant apps like juice defender will kill everything and possibly make widgets not update... I don't know beyond a factory reset...

Which note, fdr isn't even really like a fdr, user Samsung backup to backup logs, mms and sms and Google will automatically restore apps now...

Well it has gotten much worse after the last software update. I took it in to sprint and they did a factory reset that solved nothing. The problem is still there. I'm not sure what to do now.

Weird. I know that the Samsung calendar widgets were giving me problems so I stopped using them. I'm running Samsung widgets on the lock screen now with no issues. Also running BW and Google calendar widgets on home screens with no issues.

So, did it have problems right after the factory reset or only after you reinstalled apps and widgets? Just trying to help narrow down the possible culprits.

I had reinstalled a few apps but it was within a few hours. I mainly use the default Samsung widgets Like the clock. I use beweather as my weather app

Here is a screen shot I just took. Notice the clock widget is frozen while the clock in the notification area is correct. The weather widget is also frozen.

Sorry. This is over my head now. It looks like the internal clock function is fine since the time in the notification is correct. The weather widget issue I could guess it might have something to do with data sync, but the clock widget being stuck is over my head. Other than I'm thinking Samsung widgets are not compatible with the new OS update.

I would think the same thing to except it had done this as long as I've owned the phone. I bought it right after it came out over a year ago. It has just become much worse since the update.

I think I may have fixed the problem. Last night I uninstalled BeWeather and it hasn't frozen up since. Too bad since I had paid for the pro version.
