Wife keeps receiving pornographic messages on her S9. She "fell" for a message thinking it was someone wanting to look at her artwork. (Big Mistake!) They come in through Samsung Internet. She sometimes gets 3 and 4 a day. I've done everything I can to stop them. Of course, I can't uninstall Samsung Internet, but I've tried to disable it...............to no avail. She never gets on Samsung Internet for anything. Says she only uses DuckDuckGo.com for searching. (but doesn't that just use Samsung Internet???) She's tired of having them come in and having to delete them all day. About ready to toss the phone in the drink! Can someone PLEASE help us?????

I forced Samsung Internet to stop. Not sure how to clear her data. Handed the phone back to her and immediately she received another message!!!!!

To clear data, Settings, scroll down to Apps, tap on that, in top search bar type Samsung Internet or scroll down to find it and tap on it. Tap on Storage then at bottom tap on Clear Data and Clear Cache. Do Cache then Data, hope this helps!

If you long press the app then tap.info , you should scroll around and see storage go into that and clear data then force stop again

Thanks to both of you. I've done both of those things several times tonight. She just brought the phone in with another "sweet" message. Bless her heart, she sure knows to be more careful when clicking on messages in the future...............but that doesn't make this problem go away.

Okay. Did that. Hope that takes care of it. Little wife isn't used to seeing "stuff" like that.

Lol that was going to be my next suggestion was to turn notifications off. If that works, check and see if she has any of her personal info linked with Samsung Internet and if so unlink it. For example her personal or business emails. Just as an added security. But surely turning notifications off should at least help. She still might get the little notification bubble on the app icon... hopefully not!

What do you mean by she fell for a message? Did she click a link or did she download anything?

As a former Verizon employee I must admit I've had to help numerous customers eliminate pornogrohic pop ups and redirects on their web browser, took me hours of searching to find a solution. I found that most often they targeted the Google advertising ID, every Google account has one. Reset that, and problem was solved most of the time.

Open settings, scroll down and open Google settings, open ads, select reset advertising id.

Hope that helps.

As I said, she doesn't know what she did. Says she probably clicked on "something' she shouldn't have.

Anyway, whatever I did must have worked. Did everything but put a bullet through her phone!!!!! (which means I did everything you guys suggested) She hasn't had a single contact today.................so the problem must be solved. Thanks for all your help.
