wifi assistant now on N6

wifi assistant showed up on my N6 today. I'm curious to see where the wifi networks are that google has approved for it.

The advantage to Wi-Fi assistant isn't Google approve networks, it's the fact you can connect to any open Wi-Fi without worrying about privacy issues.

Did you not get any sort of update notification? Or a Google Play notification that x-many apps were updated?

I was under the impression that WIFI assistant only connects to open networks that Google has approved as fast and reliable and uses VPN on only those networks.

WIFI assistant will be rolled out to Nexus devices and no update is required.

I could be wrong, but I believe Google test open networks when it discovers them and decides whether it's fast enough. At least, that's how it's working on my phone on Project FI.
