WiFi Connection Issues

New Infuse user here and wondering about the WiFi connectivity. Mine absolutely will not connect to my router. I have numerous other devices that connect just fine, so I tend to rule out any issues with the router itself. A review of various forums shows this to be a somewhat common problem, but I do not find any suggested fixes for it other than some third party WiFi toggling apps. I guess I could just wait and see if the Gingerbread update fixes it, but would be interested if any of you have had similar problems that you have been able to fix.

Thanks.

Mine connects fine to open networks, and also my home router with WEP. I have not tried WPA.

Have you tried no security on yours to confirm it can connect OK? Does the Infuse show at all on your client list in the router admin page? Does it connect but not get an IP address, or does it not connect at all?

Some things to check, which might be obvious, but to rule them out:

* MAC filtering off?
* No limit on number of devices that can connect to router? For example, I have mine set to 5.

Can you connect to other routers? Try McD or SBUX for example. Or your neighbor.

I am able to connect to WIFI with my Infuse but it had a hard time when my router was set to hide the SID. For me this is one of the disappointing aspects of this phone. Maybe it is just me but hiding the router's SID, although not foolproof, is one way to add security to your home network. I had to reconfigure my router to display the SID and then I could connect. Every once in awhile it will still have a problem connecting even if I am close but all I then have to do is turn off WIFI and turn it back on and I am fine.

By the way, my router is setup using WPA which is also more secure than WEP.

Thanks both for your responses. As I mentioned in my original post, I have connected numerous devices to the router in the past with no problem. However, I had not tried connecting any others in the last couple of days. So, to trouble shoot a little further, and see if it might be some of the settings as suggested, I tried this evening to connect my iPod Touch and it wouldn't either. A quick reset (unplug plug back in) of the router did the trick for both devices. Case closed for my issues - thanks again.
