Wifi connections

Hi all! I am having an issue using my phone with my Olympus camera. I am using the Olympus Live View app and it connects to the camera just fine, but drops it after a few seconds and won't reconnect. It has been advised that the phone may be dropping the connection because there is no internet on it. How would i turn this "useful" function off...

If you go to your Settings, then the Connections section, tap the WiFi option (make sure that WiFi is set to on). From the list of available networks, tap the ADVANCED option on the top right corner. There, make sure that the 'Switch to mobile data' toggle is off.

IF that's the problem (your phone switching to mobile data when WiFi offers no internet) that should do the trick. If it doesn't, then the disconnection is happening because of something else.

Yep - gt it turned off, so I guess something else.

Have you contacted the vendor? I their app optimized for Oreo? Do you have any battery saving apps or mode that might be "killing" the app (and therefore the connection) when running in the background?
