Question wifi country code changing

hey everyone
I have an Samsung S8 and I can't afford to buy new phone so I have to update this device by using lineage os or anything like that
where is the problem ??
the problem is when I update this phone with lineage os the Wifi will not work if I insert me Sim card in the device
if I booted without the sim card and in airplane mode everything work just fine
after searching so much I have found that the new android by google will deteced what the country is the device work in and config the wifi to work in this country
but I live in Syria and seems like there is a problem between the new android and the country code of syria
so anyone could help me with this problem ?
I need to change wifi config to US but how to do it in android 13 or 14 ?
I'm stack with hades rom and it's android 10
pls help

Why are you being forced to update your device?

A quick search showed results for how to change the WiFi country code but it also mentions that some [devices] cannot be modified. This seems to be dependent on the type of system [AC or AP] and the country of origin of the device. For instance it says that US models the code is not able to be changed. So this raises a few questions.

Changing the WiFi code sounds like something done to a system that you have admin access to, so are you only planning to use the device on your personal WiFi? Does network Data also carry a country code?

Are you planning to use this device a regular phone that you will carry, make calls with and travel with?

Another issue might be your access to the Play Store which is locked by region. I found this app that claims to allow users to change their country code, but can you access it?

I also see that you are rooted and running unofficial ROMs, can the S8 even be updated to Android 13 or 14? And this is the point where I would direct you to XDA Developers forum. They are Android enthusiast who talk more about root and ROMs and they might be better equipped to answer your country code question too.

Wish I could offer you more. Perhaps someone will chime in with other suggestions.

yes .. I don't have any options , i have only this phone , and I have to use it for work and personal things

yes there is so many roms support this device and can update s8 to android 13 & 14

it's as like magic .. everything works fine and the phone with android 14 is so fast and smooth
but insert a syrian sim card in it .. and wifi will stop immediately

I have made a post there too .. hopefully someone here or there could help me
and I even talked to one of the developers of lineage os and I told him about this problem but unfortunately he so busy and can't help

Your reply brings up a new question, would it even be possible to use a Syrian SIM and foreign country code at the same time? It seems, and I'm no expert so I may be off crease (base for Americans) with this, but it seems the SIM would dictate CC over the WiFi even if you could change it. I mean would you ever have a foreign SIM with a US WiFi protocol? Having said that out loud I got to thinking about US travelers abroad... Their devices likely do not adopt foreign protocols just because they are using local SIMs from places abroad. Is your ROM from Syria or someplace foreign to the US? Since you say that there is widespread support for S8 ROMs perhaps finding one based (for lack of a better word I cannot think of at the moment) out of the US. I mean is your device's native text in Arabic? You might struggle with changing an English language ROM version to Arabic but that is really the only idea I have left.

Yesterday someone wrote into the forum with a root issue and the answer ended up being to downgrade from a higher version never released to the device, to a lower version of the last released device software. Not saying that you would have to go back that far just saying that maybe you've come too far for what you want. I'm assuming this worked at one point and it was just with these latest updates that things began to stop working?
