How to turn off Wifi Direct - tried disconnecting from wifi - still no choice of On/Off. Where else besides Connections/WiFi should I look.

On the Verizon Variant, if you go to Settings>WiFi there is a button at the top of the screen for WiFi Direct. Tap it and it begins searching for another WiFi Direct device. It only searches for a short time and then, if no connection is made, shuts itself down. If a connection is made, the connection only stays open until the current transaction is completed. Hope this helps.
