Wifi in lenovo vibe k5 note

I'm trying to figure out how to get my lenovo k5 note to automatically connect to my wifi when I get home. I've noticed that it wont try connecting until I turn the screen on. If I'm not careful to flash the screen on briefly when I get home, my phone will stay on the cell network.

Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep: Always
Battery Saver: off

Is there another setting that I'm missing? Is it even possible to get my phone to automatically connect to a wifi network without turning the screen on?

What other options are there in the Advanced Wi-fi menu? Is there any kind of "Smart" option? (Good rule of thumb--anything from a manufacturer or carrier that is called "Smart" is typically not.)

Hi Karimla,

Normally, Mobile data should be turned off automatically by the system when WiFi is connected. If you're sure it's mobile data which is on, you could try some automation tools to handle this, e.g. Tasker (Condition: WiFi connected, Task: mobile data off).
