Wifi Issue

Hello everyone,

I check threads on Wifi issue but none seem to help or have the issue I have. I can connect to any "secure network" and be able to use my phone as if it was under the 3G network (3G icon is off and the wireless symbol is on)

If I connect to an "open netowrk" coffee shops, restaurants, stores etc the Apps and widgets on my phone no longer work. The actual browser works but nothing else.

Is there a setting to allow the phone to act the same way as if it were connected to a secure network?

That is happening because public networks don't have the correct ports open for those items to work. You get what you pay for.

Free connection = bad service I guess your right! Anyway around this?
