WIFI light keeps coming on when I turn it off ???! HELP! smh

My wifi light keeps coming on afater I turn it off...Is this typical on the S3 ? I dont mind that the phone searches for wifi when the light is on but when I cut if off why is it cuttin back on by itself ???

Are you on Sprint?

If so, it's a setting under Mobile Networks that's on by default.
