wifi on evo not too good as expected

There is a thread on the HTC forums about this also. We need to make sure it's brought to HTC's attention that either there's a software issue with the WIFI connectivity or the icon is displaying signal strength improperly.

I did notice if I put the phone RIGHT next to my router I get full bars but 5 feet away 1 bar and still 1 bar even when outside. Good speeds though regardless.

WIFI SUCKS on EVO

Same here. Near router get full signal, next room over I get a weak wifi signal. Also having difficulty connecting exchange active sync and my corporate wifi with PEAP encryption.

Looks like HTC has a problem with CISCO equipment? (I have linksys CISCO router and my company and probably the rest of the corporate world uses CISCO routers)

Although my iPhone displays full bars and the evo 2 bars in Wifi, the Evo pulls 4055kbps down/1935kbps up and the iPhone 3939kbps down and 1855kbps up.

Obviously doesn't affect performance, but range may be a different story obviously.
