wifi on pc tablet android 1.6 will not work using my verizon mifi

wifi on pc tablet android 1.6 will not work using my verizon mifi. It will work on FREE wifi like at McDonalds. I downloaded wifi fixer from the market, but that did not work . in fact I had to remove it because than no wifi woiuld work. Any help out there? Not sure that I posted this question in the right spot. Newbe
