WIFI only not staying connected?

I usually just keep my watch tethered to my phone via Bluetooth...but just to experiment, I disconnected Bluetooth on my phone and connected my watch to home wifi network...it connects, but disconnects and wont reconnect automatically like it should..the cloud with the line through it shows up.

anyone else notice this?

I'm able to stay connected to wifi, (shows wifi icon in pull-down window shade, and in wifi settings) but I don't receive texts, can't get weather, can't use Google Now, etc., with Bluetooth turned off. I have Cellular turned off, as I don't have an active service with at&t (or anyone else). I thought we were supposed to be able to use WiFi for such things, but I'm definitely not able to do so.

Just checked my Gear Live, and same situation (wifi is connected) but don't get texts, Google Now, weather, etc., on that watch either.

So, unless my situation is atypical, doesn't seem like you're missing much that you can't connect to wifi.
