Wifi Prolems

So I rooted my brand new D2 and I am having serious problems with the Wifi. I can wireless tether just fine, but I cannot get the Wifi to stay on. No matter where I turn it on from, it turns on, searches for networks then just shuts off. And on top of that, my phone does not have a mac address, it just says unavailable??

Am I missing something here??

i think its a problem with the local area connection router and the D2 communicating right. I have a backup droid eris that connects just fine. but my D2 just states: scanning, connecting, disconnected.
