ok ive had my optimus V for 2 months now and every now and then ive had to re connect the wifi because it will say disconnected. Today it stopped working completely and someone told me to try and connect to a hotspot or someone that has free wifi to see if its my phone or our router. I was able to fully connect to another wifi location with no problem. Now the router we have has our internet and wii connected to it. Would this have anything to do with it or is our router bad? I have reset the router and i get nothing.

This happens to me on and off, I have about 8 devices connected to my router. Could be Nat, firewall, or the password protection type on your router.

thanks for your reply, i have got the password from the router and enter that and it says connecting then goes straight to disconnected. I have no clue whats going on. I honestly dont think its the phone because when we were in the car i actually successfully connected to another wifi area if you want to call it and had no problems. I just uninstalled our router and re installed everything and still nothing. I do have an older house Im wondering if the location of the router could have something to do with it since i did have this problem off and on before. Before i was able to just unplug the router and it work fine after i plugged it back in, now nothing is working.

Try updating it to the latest firmware. If you don't know how google your model number with the words "firmware update" after it.

If that doesn't work your antenna is probably fried. Is it still under warranty?

Could be a lot of things. For me, the position of my router is the main problem, the wireless printer 4 rooms away can't connect to it because my house is so old with thick walls.Even one door open seems to increase my connectivity. You could try changin the password type you have on your router, not the actual password but the type of security. First id try havin my phone next to my router and see if the disconnect issues still exist. For me they don't.

Worst case scenario, craigslist a new router if you're strapped for cash.

im not really sure, thanks for suggesting that ill have to look into that. Just now i have no idea what i did but i went to add device from the network magic menu and while the phone was trying to connect it picked it up and let me connect. Funny thing is id tried that i dont know how many times before and it didnt work. Maybe uninstalling and re installing did something. Thanks for your responses
