What is the difference between the two types of factory resets (software & boot screen)? I'm debating on doing one of the two. I am not having any reboots, my battery life is worse then before the OTA update. But main problem is that I am having WiFi issues, which no one seems to know about a fix (searched in this forum & everywhere!!...with no answers).
When turning on WiFi, it tries to search, then I get an "Unable to scan for networks" message and then turns off WiFi. I tired both through the widget and through the Settings>Wireless & networks menu. All WiFis are in range & are working properly, (other electronics using WiFi connect with no issues). I even called VZW rep and they told me to do a software reset. My whole thing is if I do one of the two, I'm afraid I will have the reboot issue (which I guess this is at my own risk). Also, my backup assistant says under Most Recent Update: "2:43PM, 5/18/2011, Database error". Does this mean my contacts, etc were not backed up?? I told the VZW rep about this as well and of course had no real good answer for me.
