wifi settings

Under the advanced WiFi settings, I set up the static ip adress due to my home network needing a specific primary & secondary DNS. I don't have another WiFi router to test until the weekend is over but I see that the settings were saved which is a good thing for my home but if I were to go to a public hotspot or a friends router, will it automatically obtain DNS and ip addresses?

Please let me know if I should clarify the situation.

Your home network doesnt have a DHCP server? (built into most routers these days)

I'm not sure exactly what that would be. Is there way for the router to automatically do this for all devices that connect to it?

On my blackberry each network that I had saved had its own separate settings without having to worry about making adjustments.

Also is there a way to download a file from funformobile.com? Again on my BB browser if I previewed a ringtone I had the option to download the file to my SD card so I can play it back as a ringtone as my ringer.
