WiFi Tether

Using WiFi Tether on rooted Razr...

On my Thunderbolt, I would only get the WiFi Tether icon in the notification area.

On the Razr, I get both the yellow WiFi Tether icon but I ALSO get the green "Tethering or Mobile Hotspot active" icon.

Is that what should be happening for WiFi Tether to work properly?

Very strange...

If I reboot the phone, the first time I start WiFi Tether in addition to its yellow icon on the notification area also the native mobile hotspot green icon displays for a short time then goes away.

Any subsequent time I start WiFi Tether, in addition to its yellow icon the green native icon displays and then does not go away.

Anyone having better luck with this?

Did I install it incorrectly?

I don't see why the green icon should appear at all, if WiFi Tether is working properly.

Not trolling just adding to topic..

The same thing happened to my Droid x after its 605 gingerbread 2.3.3 update. Both yellow and green mobile hotspots icons appeared where never it was just the yellow. I stopped using it for fear of being charged extra.

When I got the RAZR in November, the same happens too... it worked on for my laptop for surfing and emails. Bur i never used it after that initial 10 min usage. Luckily I was never charged extra.

If i may ask.... anyone using wifi tethering on RAZR, getting both yellow wifi tether icon and motorola wifi hotspot green icon, and getting charged for tethering by Verizon? ???

It could be an app error or software error In gingerbread that's causing it...... if no one is being charged extra by Verizon.
