I've never had this problem until about 2 weeks ago. Normally I wouldn't care that I'm connected to WiFi but since the WiFi where I work its terrible and there's so many routers to choose from its killing my battery. Even when I turn it off in my settings it just turns on again. Its really annoying. Any ideas?

I'm running 5.0.1, and its unrooted.

I don't have that problem, but if I use wifi, it stays on, as revealed in the expanded battery usage graph, even after I've switched off. To get it to switch off fully I Power Off and Restart.

There're different apps that can cause that problem.

Taskers. But you would remember setting one task.
Antivirus and security apps. If you have one, check in the settings any anti theft feature.
Carrier apps. Some people found a setting under Sprint, ATT, ... that was switching WiFi back on all the time.

Make sure in settings - WiFi - three dots - advanced that "scanning always available" is off.

Strange since I leave my Wi-Fi on and when I go to places that have bad WiFi the N5 turns off WiFi and it doesn't come back on till I flip the WiFi switch back on. Then I start burning my Cell Data plan when I am home with a good WiFi till I notice the WiFi is turned off. I just did a Factory Reset to see if that helps but I haven't had a chance to test it yet on the restaurant that always turns my WiFi off.
