Will 7.0 Help With My 6P's Phone Signal

My 6p's phone signal is poor. I get a lot of dropped calls on Verizon; with my work phone that is a Galaxy s6, none. Does anyone have any knowledge on whether 7.0 may help with this or is it a hardware issue? I'm asking bc I pre ordered a Note 7 and the scratch issue is a red flag for me. I'd keep my 6p if I could have a more reliable call experience. I combed through the net, looking for answers but to no avail.

There are some reception issues that can be improved with regard to software updates, however for the most part it really comes down to hardware.

This sounds like a hardware issue. If updating to Nougat doesn't help you might need to change phones.

I already changed to the Note 7. I miss my Nexus but damn this phone is nice!

There are new radio firmwares from time to time. Not all carriers adopt them - Google currently has builds with different letters denoting the upgraded radios. For my Nexus 6 for example, there is an MMB build (older radio firmware) and MOB (newer). AT&T pushes the old one but you can install the newer one yourself. I'm sure Verizon tests the firmwares rigorously and probably is similarly slow to adopt anything that changes the behavior of the handset's interaction with the towers.

My 6p signal isn't great on Verizon either. If nougat doesn't improve in then I'm selling it

My signal is much better with the Note 7. If my 6p gets better with 7.0, I'm giving this thing back.
