I have a question, will a Verizon NFC nano SIM from a Android phone work on a iPhone 6S Plus?
I was told by Verizon Tier 2 support that it will not work but has another tried it? Thanks!

Yes it will work if you did a sim swap.

Thanks dpham00, so VZ is incorrect that the iPhones requires a proprietary nano sized SIM? As I have the no carrier model of the iPhone 6Plus and I have used Hong Kong based pre-paid sims without issues.

You could have issues when there are any plan or account changes.

Really? Why? Since the Android is my primary phone, I will only change to the iPhone when needed.

Yes I have had this personally. Basically if you don't want any account changes then you will be fine. But if you want account changes for whatever reason, then some changes won't go through if you don't have the right sim. Luckily I kept all my spare sims and one of them worked in the system.

Interesting, what is their definition of the right sim? Or do you mean you just need to use a iPhone SIM if the iPhone is the active phone on the account and if it's the Android phone that is active, then it just needs to be the Android SIM? Kind of weird account changes would be dependent on the SIM.

Certain account changes could present issues, but something like a plan change wouldn't. I have an iPhone 6S+ that I had switched from a Turbo 2 and the SIM switch had zero glitches, and I've changed my plan and added a couple of line features since then without issue. Of course I've done all of that either online or in My Verizon app, and I do know that several times I've had someone wanting to activate a different device (iPhone>Android; Android>iPhone) and they both use the same SIM card, but get an incompatible SIM error when trying to activate it.

The right sim in Verizon's eyes is the sim type that Verizon specifically matches to that specific phone. Note that this isn't just a size issue but there are some differences in sims in Verizon's system. The wrong sim will not let you activate a phone if you are going through Verizon's activation process. Though a sim swap will work.

Plan change affected me.

My wife's Pixel was using her iPhone 6 SIM. Switching from a legacy Nationwide plan to the new Unlimited Plan required me to get a new SIM for her phone.

Yes, dealing with legacy plans, things have to be exactly right or there are going to be issues.

I wouldn't be activating a iPhone anyways since the entire purpose of doing a sim swap is the sim would be activated on the Android device since if it was the other way around, the nano sim would not be a NFC sim as iPhones probably would require the non-NFC and iPhone 6S Plus nano sim and then I would not have NFC when the sim is moved to the Android phone. If I wanted to activate different phones, I would have just gotten the correct sims for each phone which would basically add the hassle of having to activate each time I switch phones but instead, swapping sims is a whole lot easier as all you do is physically move the sim to the phone you want to use without having to bother Verizon in any shape or form.

How many SIM types are there in Verizon's system anyways? Since isn't there just a Android NFC sim and then a non-NFC iPhone SIM without talking about size. I will be doing a SIM swap since I will be activating using the Android with the NFC SIM as the other way won't work as the NFC will be missing.

That is probably because iPhone SIMs don't have NFC from what I was told by VZW level 2 tech support while the Android's require a NFC enabled sim so basically with the Pixel, you would not have the nfc function of the SIM that is required while if it was the other way around, the sim would have NFC but the iPhone just won't use it.
