will an s6 edge work with a macbook?

i currently have an iPhone but i am looking to upgrade it to a galaxy s6 edge, i also use a macbook pro and i was wondering if this would cause me any problems transfering pictures and music to and from my macbook. am i going to have to install any additional software for this or can i "plug in and go"?
