I'm not trying to say one is better than the other.....in fact, I'm in the process of coming on over to android and am just trying to get informed as I can about my future purchase.

Will some of the Android tabs be able to tether off of existing android phones for data like the new BB tab? The BB tab will be able to use existing BB phones' data plan to get its data service. I was just hoping that Android would offer the same so I could have a Zen unison of my android devices. I'm VERY interested in getting a tab along with my Droid X. Thanks again!!

I sure hope so. I just know that Android is the type of software I want running on my machines, and if I could incorporate that with all the toys, the better. I've been having nothing but a great experience so far with the advice and tone of this website. The information is great....and the attitude from everyone is SO MUCH MORE POSITIVE than the plae I'm coming from with my current phone. It's exciting to know that my switch over is going to be what I have been looking for for the last year and a half with my BB. Even with the new tab announced from BB, it's still not a great selling point knowing the history I have had with them.

Are you asking if you will be able to use an Android phone (such as the Droid X) and use its tethering/hotspot feature to connect a BB Pad?

If so, then hell yes. You can tether via wireless any device you want to your phone - assuming the BB Pad has WiFi. That would be a complete and utter failure if it didn't for whatever reason.

I'm asking if and Android tab can tether off of a Android's phone 3G data service. BlackBerry just announced that their tab will be able to tether off any blackberry phone's data plan....and I'm just wondering if an Android tab can do the same thing. Not only am I shopping for my phone,...but also a tab. just seeing how the two can integrate off one another.

In a perfect world, I'm going to get the Droid X at the start of November, and will buy whatever Android tab might be available at the time. Hopefully I'll be able to use the phone's 3G data plan to tether to the tab so I can search the web, and do e-mails via 3G.

Why do you need a tablet so soon? I can understand if your cell phone is old and in need of being replaced, but a tablet? If you've made it this long without one, then just wait until next year. It seems foolish to buy a tablet right now with LTE and dual-core processors coming next year.

+1... as long as the BlackPad has Wi-Fi you should be able to use wi-fi tether on your android phone which, if you have root, is free.
