I have a Samsung Gear S3 (bluetooth only, not the LTE version) and it pairs with my Galaxy Note 5 without issue. However, I have discovered to my chagrin that, when the watch is not paired to the phone (eg. the phone is turned off), my calendar events will not trigger an audible / vibratory reminder on the watch. In other words, the S3 needs to be connected via bluetooth to the phone for the reminder to sound (why, Samsung, why?). Moreover, you can't set a recurring reminder on the watch using the reminder app.
So my question for Android Wear users is: will AW watches allow calendar reminders to 'alarm' even if the watch is not bluetooth-paired to a smartphone, and is not internet-connected?
If not, my next question is: is it possible to set a recurring (eg. daily at a certain time, with no expiration) reminder directly on an AW smartwatch? And if so, would this solve my 'alarm' issue?
