Doubtful but you never know. It looks like they will get something similar/improved. During CES they mentioned they are getting a exclusive HTC device. So take that for what it is worth.

I don't see AT&T getting a phone on the same level as the Droid or Nexus.. hence them getting a phone like the Backflip.. low end..

Seriously doubt it. Apple has exclusivity with AT&T and AT&T is prevented from getting any competing phones until the exclusivity contract with Apple is up.

AT&T isn't prevented from getting other phones, they're more than able to. They carry several Blackberry devices for one, Nokia, HTC and so on. You almost make it sound like the only phone they can sell is the iPhone and the only competitor is Nexus One.

They're not carrying any Android based phones but are slated for some soon.

But it is also true that AT&T store workers bluntly say AT&T doesn't carry android because of iPhone.
