Will flashing new rom remove current kernel?

If I flash a new rom such as blackhole 4.2 will it remove the kernel that was flashed with SC 2.4 All-In-One package?

only if the new rom has a kernel built into it. I think all EB01 roms have the kernel at this point. Not a lot of kernel choices at this time.
