Will gingerbread bring.....

Keep the thread on topic guys/gals...

Will Gingerbread Bring Gps lock fix?

Gps still doesn't lock for me. If / when it does, takes 5+ mins.
When your out and want to use it, you can't because it takes to long. No one wants to sit and wait like that.

Itsthe 20th and still nothing.... I cant root this thing because itll be my moms phone when something else comes out that ill like better. I wanna root it so bad but shes afraid it messes stuff up... Trust me ive explained it to her a dozen times, but she likes her stuff stock

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Phone is stock, not rooted. I always turn on gps before going to maps. Then search an address, navigate.
Then on the top it says follow the route. On the bottom searching for gps...

Sits there... Sigh

Leave your GPS on. Or follow my directions from earlier.

Also, do you have aGPS on? In settings/location, do you have these boxes selected?
I'm running cm7, so I only have 2 options... you should have a third for vzw services.

Leaving on GPS uses battery. I turn it on when i'm going to use it which is not a lot.

I don't turn on VZW Location services just standalong GPS services and Google Location.
Although I don't see how VZW location services would affect my GPS.

GPS itself does not use much battery, apps that use your GPS use the battery. You can see when your GPS is being used because the little icon come up and it's not all that often unless you are using an app like Maps or Nav.
