Nexus flagship: 4.7 - 4.8" type smartphone
Nexus phablet niche: 5.5" smartphone

This way, Google can target two markets at the same time. Giving customers more choices etc...Google is doing this with the 7 inch Nexus 7 and the 10 inch Nexus 10. Nexus 7 is outselling the Nexus 10 by a large margin but that doesn't mean selling the Nexus 10 isn't worth while.

What the Nexus Phablet Line could look like:

Specs for the LG Optimus G Pro

5.5" screen
1080x1920 Full HD IPS-LCD
1.7 Ghz qua-core Snapdragon
LTE
2GB RAM
13MP rear, 2PM front camera
3,140 mAh battery

It saddens me that no one responded to this thread. This is EXACTLY what I want them to do. Vic Gundotra even posted an article on Google plus a couple months back talking about 2013 being the year of the phablet. Well, how can that be complete without a nexus phablet? The current nexus flagship is perfect at 4.5-5 inches. It shouldn't go any bigger than that. I'd really like to see another nexus line at 5.5-6 inches. I love my note 2, but I REALLY miss my galaxy nexus and the hacking advantages that had. An LTE nexus phablet would be the bomb!!!

To put it simply, no. I don't see Google doing that. If they made a 5 inch Nexus, eh, I could see that, but entering the phablet market doesn't seem to interest Goggle too much. They already have their "Big 3" of the 4,7, and 10 so I don't see it.
