I'm enjoying my rooted Dinc running CM7. I really use the hell out of my free wifi hotspot, and I like the customization freedom of CM7. I want a larger phone though and I'm eyeballing the Nexus.

Will I like ICS?

That's kinda like asking "Will I like chocolate chip ice cream because I like vanilla ice cream?" :p

Very hard to tell. I'm sure it will have lovers and haters. If you didn't watch the hour long walk through check it out. Also I would get some hands on time in the store after it launches.

PS. If you plan to get the Verizon version, you also should take into account the phone having locked bootloader and bloatwares.

Would people please quit repeating the nonsense about the Verizon Nexus having a locked bootloader?
Are the people repeating this not aware that even the Nexus One had a locked bootloader?

A locked bootloader is not the same as a locked and encrypted bootloader, folks. The encrypted bootloaders -- like those from Motorola -- are the ones that cause problems.

The nexus bootloader won't be locked, and as you said a locked bootloader is not a real problem. It is the encrypted like moto does that have yet to be cracked and are the ones that limit the dev support.

ICS is the future of Android for 2012. You may as well get used to it. Get on board early.
There will be plenty of CM9 roms for the GN. I fail to see any drawbacks. The GN will have a huge dev network for a long time.

lol. Maybe or maybe not.
I have had my hands on GN about 3months ago. It was DIFFERENT than what we have been using.

No menu button feels weird + especially when you want to edit contacts on your phone.
But you will get used to it :)

Well on the Nexus S it comes locked... but it's simple to unlock.... run 'oem unlock' from adb. I'm sure the Galaxy Nexus will be the same.

As a few people have stated CM9 will most likely be very good. And you know the Nexus will be one of the first to get it.

There's a few apps you can use for this, also one thing to keep in mind as you try them out is that they have to support ICS first. Some developers have only just started this process of updating their apps to work on the newest version of android.

I had CM7 on my Fascinate, found the thread w ICS for the Fascinate on rootzwiki, flashed it same day. I've tried several ROMs on this device, CM7 my fav and I gotta tell you ICS is by far the best!

There are so many improvements and cool features, you will love!
