Will I lose all my data if i install latest firmware on my note 8?

Hey everyone! I am on Android Oreo the October 2018 version
To do Android Pie I have to install all security updates for December January February, which I think is BS and frustrating, it doesn't take me to the newest android version when I check. If I use firmware/Autoloaders and install, will I lose all my data like music, files, photos, videos?

I have been using the Note 8 since September of 2017, haven't been playing with the autoloaders as I used to on my Blackberries so need to confirm first.

Why would installing security updates be BS? They're pretty important (and some would argue more important than feature additions or modifications in system upgrades). Keep in mind that some monthly security updates also include various patches or bugfixes, which later updates probably need in order to build on. Are you reluctant to do so because of the time involved?

Are you still able to update over-the-air? If so, that won't cause you to lose any data. Or are you saying that the phone actually doesn't get the Android Pie update over-the-air?
