Will ICS update to deactivated EVO 3D?

I had hoped ICS would roll out to my Evo 3D before upgrading to new phone.
I plan to keep my Evo 3D as use wi-fi only. Will an ICS update be possible after phone is deactivated?

Probably not, but you'll be able to run the ruu.exe when it drops.

For what it's worth, I picked up a used Motorola DROID Pro (Verizon) that wasn't up to date. After connecting to WiFi, I was able to pull down the latest update without activating the phone on Verizon.
