Will it speed up the phone?

Recently a US Cellular agent told me to make my phone work faster I should turn it off daily for two minutes, take the battery out weekly, and clear the cache fro my apps frequently. I think I understand the cache bit, but will turning it off and pulling the battery make any difference?

Not really. The cache might help, but battery pulling and turning it off is irrelevant to the performance of the phone.

That agent must still be using a Blackberry. It used to help things back then.
