You don't need to sideload. I created a US hotmail account and then linked it to Apple Store using a US address (90210) and have access to the US store. So log out of apple store, log into US apple store using new account and download whatever software you need... log out of US store and log back in using Canadian id and you're set.

What is this "apple store" you speak of?
