Will Moto be around in the near future?

Everyone has biases, and most websites have some form or another of vested interests involved in everything they do. I take everything I read or see on the internet with a grain of salt.
So there's a conspiracy across the major tech blogs to speed up video of the GS2.

Aaron: Hey Kellex, Aaron over at Phonedog.

Kellex: Oh hey Aaron! Hows things?

Aaron: Great man. Been playing with the GS2 for a couple days

Kellex: Me too!! It's pretty amazing

Aaron: Yeah it is. I'm about ready to post up a 2 part walkthrough

Kellex: Yeah I'm going to do the same after I spend a little time with it.

Aaron: Cool cool. Hey listen, I was thinking you should probably speed up your video to make it appear butter smooth.

Kellex Yeah but it is.

Aaron: I know but we probably should anyway.

Kellex: You're probably right

Aaron: Awesome man. I'm going to get a hold of the guys over at BGR next and tell them to do the same when they post video up.

Kellex: Great idea! Talk to you later. Oh wait!!

Aaron: Yeah?

Kellex: Should we then slow down the DX2's hands-on?

Aaron: Good question. I think that would be advisable. I'll spread the word.

Kellex: Thanks Aaron. Talk to you later.

exactly..

Come on rkeller lol. I can just imagine Aaron over at phonedog manipulating his videos to make them look like all the others. Thats just ridiculous. Can't believe you said that.

I NEVER said that any of those videos were manipulated. I only pointed out that, if I really want to, I can make a video show whatever I want it to. This was in response to a statement that "vidoes don't lie." I put that statement right up there with "statistics don't lie." They might not lie, but I can certainly make them say what I want them to say...

But in the context of this conversation you are alluding to the fact they could be sped up.

I think in general we all know that videos can be manipulated.

LOL, really?? Love to see where I said that. wow - that is quite a leap there CK. I was actually merely pointing out that I can be sure the only capture a phone at it's best if I so desire. No trickery or video voo-doo, simple scripting and preparation is all that would be needed to ensure my device looked flawless. Marketing companies do this all the time.

For all of you that love to jump to wild conclusions, as I stated before, I am NOT saying that any of this was done in any SGSII review video anywhere. I also have no idea if the phone is a smooth as a newborns butt or not, I am simply pointing out that no one else bringing this "fact" up here knows for sure either.

Good to see that we now know these reviewers will make the videos how they want them to be on whether they like something or not. Hm why can't anyone just review something and leave it how it is and not "fake" it? smh maybe they need to start giving these test phones to people who will actually test them unbiased and give the results.

I wouldn't say that it is 'faking' it, but our own personal preferences and biases will always come into play whenever we are judging something, it's just human nature. If I really can't stand Motorola, for whatever reason, I will do whatever I can to validate that stance if I am reviewing one of their products. Same would happen if I dislike HTC, Samsung or LG. No matter how much we tell ourselves that we are unbiased, or professional, and can keep our personal attitudes and biases out of mind it just won't happen.

You alluded to it lol. This statement is not just made in a vacuum. You are pointing out that you could manipulate video as well to make it look smooth.

Videos can, and do, lie all the time. I am sure that I could record a video of my OG Droid and make it appear that it had no lag whatsoever..

and since we are talking about video of a device running smooth you are ALLUDING to the fact it means nothing. It can be manipulated.

lol it's not quite a leap.

Guys lay off CK and his love for the GSII. I mean it's not like this is the Bionic forum or anything. I mean how annoying would it be if you were over in the GSII forum and all you did was trash it and talk about how you love the Bioinc even though you have never had it?

As it relates to how smooth the device runs, since that's the issue in discussion, it really doesn't matter what is said. Simply mute the video and watch it. Hard to show bias when you're scrolling through the application window. And, again, that's really the item of contention.

To try and bring this back to the thread topic ... I really hope that the Bionic can provide the same smoothness that I've witnessed on the GSII. I've been extremely impressed with the GSII considering performance, display, and user interface. If the Bionic can show or impress me the same way, it becomes a much greater consideration for me (and I would expect others as well). And I think Motorola strongly needs that to happen to become more relevant in the market.

The SGII is so good that it cant be contained within its own inactive forum

Pinch to zoom is also a sweet flowing river of honey dolfan :)

Anyway back on topic. Moto not being around or being around

Sent from my Droid

Oxn has a point in that the Charge had some issues with double-clicking to zoom. I'm sure there's a setting somewhere that I missed but it didn't let you do it stock.

On the other hand, being able to zoom using the Volume +/- isn't too bad.
