Will online availability be limited?

I am not eligible for annual upgrade until July 16th. What does everyone think? Will there be any Droid X phones left for me to order online a day after the release? Or am I going to be stuck like the people waiting for the HTC Incredible?
 
Seriously? You're a day apart from its release on your annual upgrade?

Call VZW up immediately and have them move it up a day. If the CSR refuses to do so, ask to speak to a supervisor. I had mine moved from the 21st to the 15th without a single issue.
 
Just called VZ customer service today and they moved up my upgrade from the 21st. It's worth a shot if it will get you the phone you want earlier.

You wouln't have to wait as long as the people waiting for the DInc cause of the LCD screen. The AMOLED screen is whats keeping the DInc from being shipped. Only Samsung and I think Sony produce that screen and they are keeping most of them for there own phones.

Yep, got the Tour last year on the 16th. 7 replacements later I'm done with this and want and Android phone. I will call them and see what I can get done.
 
Just called in and the guy wouldn't move it ahead 1 day. He assures me that there will be no shortages of the Droid x and will be able to order it without a problem on the 16th. Not sure what to think of that.

I called again, this time they told me I would have to call on the 15th and order it from them to be able to do it.

Probably will have to call again.
 
hey bro, call again.....i called last week and had mine moved up from the 21st to the 15th.....verizon has great customer service and i would plead your case man if they say no the first time....also, when you call in...they will prompt you if you want to take a survey about your experience with the CSR after the call, say yes to the survey. everytime i've said yes to the survey, i always get what i want. and then if the CSR still gives you grief, as for the supervisor to approve your request.
 
I did the survey and just got the call back and filled it out dissatisfied. I will call again and see what i can get done.

Yeah just keep calling back. Hopefully it won't take all day. Just be polite and erm... strong willed? About the whole thing, you'll get it bumped :)
 
Call in and press 0, that will connect you to a real person.

I wasn't due for an annual upgrade until 8/26, I called Sunday night, had a great CSR, after pleading my case she moved things up for me, noted my account and posted the computer authorization codes to my account notes so that when I call in on the 15th anyone who answers should be able to place the order without hassle. She said she'd call me when she gets in during the afternoon of the 15th for a followup, so I can wait for her or call earlier "if you're too impatient" and someone else could do it.

Well 4th time was the charm. I finally got ahold of a guy that understood what I was after. He put me on hold for a couple minutes then came back and told me he had his supervisor move my upgrade date to today. Now when I look at my account online it says I am eligible for upgrade. Looks like I'm joining Team Android on the 15th!

Can anyone tell me if Verizon will be shipping the Droid X via overnight, and people who order on Thursday will definitely receive it by Friday? or is it possible they won't get it until Monday?

VZW is shipping the 15th for next day delivery on the 16th.
 
Just got off the phone with VZW. My NE2 is available on August 5th for $100.00. (yes I'm one of the few left that get $100.00. After this I'll get $50.00).

Told them that I was starting to have problems with my BB and asked if they could bump my NE2 up so I could get the X on the 15th. She said no problem and after she checked with her supervisor, I'm good to go. I was very nice and asked if they could help me during this conversation. Once again, Big Red's customer service is awesome. Another reason why I have been with them for 15 years. Yes I pay more then other carriers, but you get what you pay for.

Now my head will finally look "normal" when I'm on the phone. :cool:
