Have had my invite for going on five weeks now, however cannot switch because I need to order a phone on payments, and pay for the plan at the same time to expense it out. Since the only way to do that is to buy the phone from Google FI, I've been waiting for a 64Gb Nexus 6 to be back in stock, however their still 'unavailable, check back soon' Anyone know if they'll ever get the 64Gb version back in? or if their just going to try to unload the 32Gb units until the new LG and Chinese phones come in October? Even calling FI support doesn't give any help. Also, has anyone been waiting Longer than me for FI to get the 64Gb units back in?

I ordered mine on motomaker, then ordered my sim thru project fi. You can get moto credit and make payments.

As I said originally, I'm looking to get the phone through Fi so I can expense it out in payment s WITH the phone bill. otherwise I'm on the hook for the phone. Thanks though.

You're still "on the hook" for the phone through Fi. It's just a difference of who gets the money

If I can get the phone and the bill both on payments, I can expense them off from takes. But if I buy the phone myself, i can't expense it off or put it as a business expense. So yeah, then I'm 'on the hook' I started this thread in case anyone knew or found out if google fi would actually be getting more 64gb nexus 6's or if their not going too and are just waiting for their two new phones in october.

For anyone thinking about buying a Nexus 6 from Moto for use on Project Fi - don't do it. The phones shipped by Moto do not work on Project Fi. Unfortunately, the Moto web site does not explain this - you have to contact them to find out that it won't work. Bummer...
  • The phone is not available from Project Fi (not the 64GB version at least... it's been out of stock for 2 months)
  • It's not available from the Google Store (64GB version - out of stock)
  • The version at Amazon is not compatible with Project Fi
  • The product you'll see on ebay is mostly carrier branded, hence, you'll be getting the modified OS from the carrier with updates when they are ready to give them to you.
  • The 32GB version is available - at this moment - from Project Fi & Google Store. But the 64GB version is a much better deal
:/

What's not compatible? Is there a Nexus 6 with a different physical radio?

If it's the same hardware, could you not just unlocked the boot loader, flash the Fi ROM, and re-lock the boot loader to essentially have the exact same phone that's sold through Fi?

It is not the same hardware.

Nexus 6 for Project Fi has both GSM and CDMA. Many of the other Nexus 6 that you'll see available are GSM only. The one sold in the Moto store is GSM only. The ones that I've seen on Amazon are GSM only. The ones sold in the T-Mobile store are GSM only.

maddening.

Last night for a nano second, there was available stock of a 'Nexus 6 64GB, XT1103, unlocked, Midnight Blue' in the Google Store. 11:20P PST.

I never expected to find one available. I had just gotten into the habit of robotically checking Google Store and Project Fi and fully expected to find none.

When I found it, it put me in a pickle. I'm getting ready to leave the country for 12 days. What to do (?) - I don't want the phone physically delivered while I'm gone. Not a problem if Google will ship via USPS Mail, is a problem if they ship UPS / FedEx.

I put the phone in my shopping cart and decided to click around and see if I could find some shipping / shipping option info. There was no 'pre checkout' info. Decided that I'd proceed with checkout.

Went back to a page with a shopping cart icon (and sure enough, the cart icon noted that I had an item in the cart). Clicked the cart icon and the next page advised that the cart was empty. There had only been a minute or two since I had put the item in the cart and came back to complete the purchase!

So, I went back to a Google Store page that would allow me to select a phone, and this time the 64GB version was no longer available.

I guess Google had one phone in stock and someone executed before me : /

I figured --- hmmm, maybe Project Fi will show available inventory of the 64GB version. No such luck.

Don't believe me (?) - I screen captured the page just before I put the phone in my shopping cart. Incidentally, notice the URL…
/nexus>6_white
That url does not change to /nexus>6_blue when you select a Midnight Blue phone.

(One of the Google employees told me a few days ago that he did not believe they've ever had a white version)

Here's a Nexus 6 64GB in Midnight Blue from Amazon: Amazon.com: Motorola Nexus 6 Unlocked Cellphone, 64GB, Midnight Blue (U.S. Warranty): Cell Phones & Accessories

For $399, you won't find a better deal on a brand new N6 anywhere. The disclaimer on Amazon, eBay, Newegg and others related to unlocked phones not being compatible with CDMA carriers is a misprint and does NOT apply to the N6. It has all of the bands necessary to work with Project Fi.

And that link above even has the white version in 64GB in stock Just change the color option.

I got my N6 from Amazon and it's Fi compatible.

Tried to get project if match b&b and Amazon $350 price but they said could not do. Oh well, picking the nexus 6 at BB tomorrow for 350. I think I will test project if for 2 weeks if I don't like it will cancel service and return phone.

I bought a Nexus 6 64gb blue unlocked from Amazon on Monday. Brand new, model xt1103 fi compatible. It comes from Amazon, not a 3 party seller for $399 the 32gb is $349. I don't understand why your having problems ? If that's what your having.
