Will something stock android like pixel have better battery life than Samsung phones?

Mine used to be, too, until DP 4. Now my 2 XL's standby battery stats are no better than my old Nexus 6's. And a factory reset did nothing to change that.

I believe you but there has to be a logical explanation.

I've used both and I can say that the Pixel offers much better battery life

Actually it took a while, but the 2 XL is slowly starting to behave itself again and get back to the same kind of battery usage I was seeing on DP 3. I guess it takes time for Adaptive Battery (or whatever) to rebuild a profile and slap some sense into hyperactive apps.

I've had dozens of cell phones over the years. Out of necessity I also carried a charged Anker Power Bank with me, but I no longer feel the necessity. My Pixel 2 XL is the only phone I've ever had that easily lasts through they day with battery to spare. At the 9 month point I'm still not finding any noticeable battery degradation.
